17 August 2025

Heading into the Dark Peak for an attractive 11 mile circular ramble from Whaley Bridge. A wide variety of scenery to enjoy. There will also be a shorter B walk as usual.
The walk begins then from Whaley Bridge and initially takes us westwards above Toddbrook Reservoir. Then across Whaley Moor with spectacular views en -route. Onwards then to Lyme Park Country Park for the main lunchtime stop, with refreshment and toilet facilities.
In the afternoon we turn eastwards across a number of paths past Bollinhurst Bridge, Rocks Farm and Redmoor Farm. Then heading north with a steady descent to Newtown. Continuing on to New Mills where there will be ample time for a mid -afternoon refreshment break
We then cross the Millennium Bridge by the river Goyt and finish with a steady walk by the Peak Forest Canal, returning to Whaley Bridge for a 6.30pm coach departure home.
