North Yorkshire Coastal Ramble

24 June 2018

On Sunday the Sutton Rambling Club enjoyed their popular annual trip to the North Yorkshire coast. There was a choice of two walks both starting at the village of Burniston, three miles north of Scarborough, and finishing at Ravenscar. The main ramble will be a distance of 7/8 miles with a shorter easier 6/7 mile route available.. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the spectacular coastline and view all the seabirds. Do bring binoculars. There is also option to spend the day at Scarborough for any non-walkers.

Both walks start from Burniston and head north mainly following the Cleveland Way coast path.. There will be refreshment stops at Cloughton Railway Station and Hayburn Wyke en route. During the afternoon we will split into two groups-the main party will follow the coast path all the way to Ravenscar whilst the flatter shorter option follows the old railway track. to Ravenscar.

The coach will depart for home from Ravenscar between 5.00 pm and 5.30 pm.

We continue to welcome new members who can be guaranteed healthy exercise, attractive scenery and friendly company PLEASE NOTE THE COACH DEPARTURE TIMES ARE ONE HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL.
