Hardwick Park

1 May 2024

The walk starts at 7pm. Wednesday evening 1st May.

The first of our local evening walks, begins from the Hardwick Inn carpark (the main larger car park down the lane from the pub).

The route takes us up the lane past the Inn, where we turn left at the cattle grid and make our way along a woodland walk towards the ponds, turning right onto a path that passes by toilet facilities. We then go through a gate on the left and walk up the grassed hillside, cross a lane, continuing to the top with lovely views to enjoy along the way.

After exiting the park through a gate, we follow a track up to Ault Hucknall.

Then a short way afterwards we take a footpath through fields on our right, to rejoin the road for a short way before turning right onto the Rowthorne Trail.

Where a footpath crosses the route, we go down into the Norwood and ascend through the wood to cross a field and pass between two houses to meet Norwood Lane. Here we turn right and after a short way go through the gate on our right to re-enter Hardwick grounds through Lady Spencer wood with its majestic trees. Before reaching the visitor centre we take the path on our left and follow it downhill to reach the Hardwick Inn. About five miles or so.

Everyone welcome, no need to pre-book or be a club member. You’d be made most welcome. Dogs on leads allowed as well. Make your own way to the starting point. This a free event.
