The club continues its traditional Christmas Ramble with a 7-mile circular walk from Whatstandwell.
This will be an easy ramble; in the morning we will depart from Whatstandwell Bridge and head towards Alderwasley. Then taking a variety of farm tracks and woodland tracks, we circle round to Cromford passing under the High Peak Trail en-route.
After our very extended lunch break at The Boat Inn in Cromford we make for Cromford Wharf and enjoy a steady walk back by Cromford Canal to rejoin the coach at Whatstandwell for a 4 pm departure home.
At the Boat Inn, 28 people have booked for a buffet. There will be our usual singalong accompanied by Alan on his accordion. Also, a raffle, the proceeds of which are donated to the Edale Mountain Rescue. It would be appreciated if you could donate a raffle prize, please.
The coach fare is £14. Please note new members are always most welcome and that the first ramble is free.
