Bolsover Walk

16 March 2025

This is a lovely walk with lots of panoramic views. It is approximately ten miles and not too strenuous. It would be an ideal walk for new walkers wanting to try a walk with us. Starting at Bolsover Castle, we head down Castle Lane taking the footpath and cross fields to Station Road. We make our way to Carr Vale Nature Reserve. Here you can see the Peter Fidler Cairn. Passing through the Reserve, we join the Stockley Trail.

We continue along the trail until we reach the Starbuck’s cafe, where we will stop for lunch. It is then uphill at Bramley Vale and we go through the open access woods to Ault Hucknall. We pass St John the Baptist Church and continue up the road to the footpath across the fields to Glapwell.

We then make our way to Palterton and finish our walk at Bolsover. There is a selection of pubs to choose for refreshments. The bus will leave at 4.30 pm for our return trip. There is no need to book, just go to one of the pick-up points listed. The fare is £14
