View our new Summer / Autumn 2026 walks programme!
Our friendly club continues to welcome new members, and we look forward to making new friends in 2025. We now have our new Winter 25/26 programme for you to enjoy. There is a great variety of walks, mainly in the Peak District. There is a walk to suit everyone. Have a look at the programme, and join us. The walks will vary in length depending on the leader and daylight limitations.
We have very few rules and regulations. We do not allow dogs on the Sunday walks, but they are welcome on the local evening walks. There is no need to pre-book for the coach and if it’s for first walk with us the fare is free! Just turn up at your preferred pick-up point.
These are:
- 9.15am Staff Of life pub, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
- 9.20am Priestsic Road (opposite McDonalds, near Langford Street end) Sutton-in-Ashfield
- 9.22am Eastfield Side (Blue Bell)
- 9.25am Hermitage Lane bus stop, Sutton Road, Mansfield.
- 9.30am ASDA bus stop, Stockwell Gate, Mansfield.
Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled times.
The Sutton-in-Ashfield and District Rambling Club was founded in 1931 and uses a coach to transport us predominantly to the glorious Peak District, on alternate Sundays throughout the year. The coach removes the stress of driving, cuts the cost of motoring, is environmentally friendly and enables you to relax in a pleasant sociable atmosphere, especially coming back after a walk.
We pride ourselves on being an independent walking club and not a Ramblers group (formerly know as the Ramblers Association). However we are an affiliated group and pay them a group membership subscription, which gives us some benefits.

About the Club
The club caters for people with a range of fitness and ability. Often the club will split up into more than one group enabling the less energetic to go at a slower pace, whilst the more active can add extra mileage but still arrive at the coach departure point on time. We also have a programme of local summer evening rambles, mainly in Nottinghamshire – see the walks programme for details.
We always welcome new people to the club. Give us a try and your first walk with us will be free. After this the coach fare is £14. Young people under 18 are free, if accompanied by an adult.
Membership is £10, payable after you have been with us twice – valid until the end January 2026.
