On Sunday (11th January 2009) the members of the Sutton Rambling Club will be starting their 2009 programme of rambles with a 9.5/10 mile ramble in the very popular Monyash area of the White Peak. Please note there will be a shorter route option in mid-afternoon. In the afternoon we move northwards through the High Low area and then follow along the bottom of the steep-sided Deepdale. The afternoon section is completed with a stroll through Great Shacklow Wood and along the banks of the River Wye to finish at the village of Ashford-in-the-Water for a 4.30 pm coach trip home (grid ref 195695). New members are made to feel most welcome. There is no requirement to pre-book your seat on the coach. The McEwens coach leaves the "Staff of Life " pub on Hack Lane in Sutton-in-Ashfield at 9.15 am and the Bancroft Lane end, Stockwell Gate (near the Netto supermarket) in Mansfield at 9.30 am. There are other pick-up points available en route. Please click to see other pick-up points available. If you would like further information about the club please phone John on 01623 796396 or Diane on 01623 408704 or click for the 2009 programme of walks and previous walks. |
